So the most amazing things happened yesterday:
- My Kickstarter campaign funded at 112% of goal.
- Persona Non Grata was released in print on Amazon.com.
- The Kindle files were completed and ready for upload to Amazon. (That will happen by tomorrow.)
It came a couple of days early than expected, but two years of work have culminated in the release of my first novel, and I am giddy with excitement.
There were times when it seemed like the process just wouldn't end. There were days when I thought to myself, Give up. Just stop. It's not worth it.
But now I am a published author.
Insane.
I don't think it an overstatement to say that my blood, sweat, and tears were, at times, dripping from the pages of that book. And my fingers still cramp and my neck and shoulders still hunch tensely when I think about the innumerable hours that went into this story.
It feels strange that it's there, that it's out. I know the work isn't done; there's still promotion and the like to do to try to garner attention for Persona Non Grata. But it's a different kind of work to be done now. It's more streamlined and organized and much less frenetic than the weeks of writing.
There's no way that I could've done this without a small army of friends and family and helpers. I know exactly how much support and love I received from the inner circle during this process. I am fully aware how the well wishes of my fans helped to bolster me when I thought I should just stop.
Thank you. All of you.
So now I'll spend a little time working on getting the word about this out to the world. But my brain is already churning, thinking about the next Junkture story I'll start, probably right after the first of the year. (It's Annabelle, if you're interested.)
I hope you read my book. I hope you like my book. If you do, go write a thoughtful review on Amazon and share it with your friends. Either way, drop me a line and let me know what you think.
